Found an Animal?

Not every wild animal needs to be rescued.

Seeing a baby animal alone can be alarming—but in many cases, its parents are nearby and caring for it.

Before intervening, take a moment to assess the situation. The best thing you can do for most wildlife is leave it where it belongs.

• Is the animal injured?

• Is the animal in immediate danger?

• Has the parent been gone for a long time?
